Yes! Caught this episode accidentally one night doing alot of channel flicking and set on a mission to find the rest , like his "monsters" - completely hooked

good luck on trying to own one even the zoos in the USA are trying to breed them and if you find one for sale im pretty sure it will be a round in the hundred thousand range

They're breeding them in Japan. I've attended a lecture of a man who visited the breeding farm. The scientist who runs this farm helped filming the episode of "Life in Cold blood" in which you can see the Giant salamander. I like all the episodes btw. Well.... I like every documentary with Attenborough to be honest.

If you have a chance to visit Japan, you'll be able to see Japanese Giant Salamanders in several zoos and aquariums; exhibts always well-done; A former co-worker from my zoo days set me up with some contacts there - amazing. He's is studying them in the wild, I hope to get back soon, Frank
