Start up help

I have just recently decided to start breeding newts and am having significant trouble finding some to purchase. Every website i try is completely out of stock for every type of newt. Is this because its out of season? If not where can I purchase Banded Newts, Alpine Newts, Crested Newts Etc.? any help will be greatly appreciated thanks.

Hi, welcome to the site.
You are having problems finding newts due to the recent interim ban on transporting newts over state lines. You can read about it here;

I'm afraid your only options are finding a breeder in your state, or finding someone with eggs to sell as they are still legal to send over state lines at the moment.

Thank you for the info. So am I correct in understanding that the ban will only be lifted if there is sufficient proof that the captive animals are healthy?

I think that was initially a thing when you could submit test samples of your captive caudates to Fish and Wildlife Service, but I still am pretty sure it's illegal no matter what now. But eggs are good to ship to my knowledge if you can find some.
