that's a great tank! you should add some cover on the land and water areas

Thanks for the advice I will post some more pics in a bit would you put live plant cover. Or are you suggesting something else like a rock or peice of wood.

both! you could put fake plants in but IMO live plants are better.

Is the newt already living in the tank? And, if so, is the newt mainly aquatic or staying on land? My general suggestion is deeper water. You could try using a brick to hold back the gravel. I have bricks in nearly all my tanks.

Yes I have had him for 6 years. Well he is about 50/50 but he usually lies on his plants above the water so mostly land but not by much. Thanks for the gravel suggestions about the gravel
