There seems to be a clear, stringy slime forming around the tank and on the plants, what is this from? is it normal?

The tank currently has 2 CFBN and 3 snails.

How long has the tank been set up? Are the plants live or fake?

How many snails and what species are they? I have pond and horn snails in my fish tank and I find they're pretty slimy, I also have an apple/mystery snail or 2 in my fire bellied newts tank but they don't seem to be as slimy. Some snails eat live plants, and as plants die, I find they leave and yuckiness behind. And then again, it's only been up for a week, so that just may be a normal thing...someone more experienced will probably have an answer for you :)

I have something similar in one of my tanks, it's like thick snot...
It could be some form of slime mould I think.
