Tetra Power Filter

I have a 5-15 gallon tetra power filter in a 7 gallon aquarium for one JFBN. I only have about 3-4 inches of water and the end of the power filter tube doesn't reach the water. Is there any products i can buy to extend the tube or anyone who has built something to do the job?

Is that the kind of filter that hangs on the side of the tank? If so, it's very difficult to seal up all the cracks around that kind of filter, as newts are escape artists. Consider a small submersible filter, or no filter at all.

Also... if your newt is mostly aquatic, I would urge you to make the water much deeper, as it will be easier to maintain good water quality. Are you sure it's JFB, not CFB?
