Tiny brown dots on newt that move :(

I saw tiny brown specks on my newt's skin.

She is in an aquatic setup. She doesn't often go in the water. She sits on a floating island of cork bark covered with java moss. Would these tiny things be from the cork bark and can I treat the tank with anything ? Please xxx

A mature aquarium is always home to a whole host of tiny invertebrates, most of which will cause no harm to your newt and are just part of a healthy tank. You should only worry if they become attached to the newt's skin. There's lots of good advice in the following article on CC:
