To all friends of T.kweichowensis
I wasn´t surprised while reading your last postings,
because of being sad.
that this relatively large amount of animals exported, just seems to be a small piece of
a real large one.I got mails from china, advertising those animals in japan and europe too,.Unfortunately, most of those newts won´t have survived
their voyage.I´m also interested in asian skinks and special snakes of that origin and i had to see whole
imports of half-dead animals from china this year..There are always ways and channels for people, selling without thinking
of what they´re doing to their "products".
Unfortunately, Tylototriton species have become that popular,
that also "not that serious" keepers buy without knowing how to do it right.
Seen and bought!
There are CB animals in Germany and around, but some people aren´t interested in raising young newts,
especially "professionals"!That´s why there are hardly breeding groups to find,
consisting of CB animals.Very large groups of young Tylototriton are still dying some time after having been
given away to keepers! On the other hand,
there are a lot of breeders, but also many
who aren´t that keen on breeding seriously and are selling their CBs short after metamorphosis.
But such animals aren´t easy to raise and so it´s even very hard to find new "mommys" and "daddys" for
for much older young ones!
My motivation for writing all of this:
I guess,i´m a little frustrated of watching my raised groups of T.taliangensis and T. kweichowensis
by knowing, that it´s going to be very hard to find enough idealistic keepers for forthcoming offspring,
because everybody´s running for WC animals, when they´re coming on a trail of death,
but only real lovers like to spend time on having an eye on babies.
I have to give my WC breeding group of T.shanjing away, because there weren´t enough people,
taking responsibility for last years offspring. That´s also the reason why i divided my
T. verrucosus(dark)-tank, and why I´m going to get some T. verrucosus (light)CB of two different
breeding groups.
I know i´m a little idealistic ,but on the other hand i´m quite happy that, at least some,
of the kweichowensis got in hands like yours.
Greetings,
philipp
P.S.

on´t think of my wallet when you might think of a missing link between Echinotriton andersoni
an me;-)
