Hi everyone, I'm new to this group but have a lifetime of love and passion for this hobby. I've had a total of 52 tiger salamander larvae but all have been your ordinary every day larvae that eat worms and morph into regular adults, which don't get me wrong that's awesome! But I want something that got me into tigers in the first place. Yes I am talking about a cannibalistic morph. I got in contact with a bait dealer from Texas that sells "waterdogs" asking him if they ever get any bigheads/cannibals when they trap? He went on to tell me that they run across them once in a while but don't keep them due to their aggressive behavior towards other salamanders in the stock tanks. He mentioned that most of them are just monsters reaching over 15" long! I asked if he would keep one for me as long as I was in the understanding that a few of my waterdogs might be missing by the time it arrived. He told me that he would let me know when they get one! Well a few months went by so I asked him about it again, I never got another reply. Just yesterday I messaged him with a different email asking the same thing. He replied, "no can do, too rare and we don't wanna mess with them." That was a major bummer to me. So I guess what I'm asking is if anyone here knows where I can get one? Thank you very much!!

I suppose it's a case of examining numerous tiger larvae until you spot one. I've raised a few matches of eggs and not seen any as described by you, though they do on occasion merrily eat their siblings. I suspect there is more to the larger head shape than being canabalistic.

Thank you! Another question, do you collect your own eggs?

as long as its not freezing they should ship fine. I usually ship mine in 2 days priorities like axolotl. insulation and some cold pack. Is this morphed or still a larvae?

I currently have a 3 year old axolotl, he hasn't been eating for the past couple of weeks and has lost a lot of weight. Hedwig usually eats bloodworms and earthworms just fine but now he won't even stud it. I've done a water change to make his nitrate lower and his water is at a good temperature

I am wanting a spotted or tiger salamander and I was wondering how often to feed, what the best feeders would be and how many fed per feeding session.
