Why did you give your axie that name?

My leucistic is Frankie B. (Or Frankie G. if it turns out to be a girl). The first name chosen by my children was Nacho. Yeah, that didn't fit so Frankie it is! And the GFP wildtype is Beans (oldest daughter picked it) so we have Frank and Beans lol

My first axie was Esmay - because my Grandma look at it and thought it looked like a lady "Esme Watson" in A contry practice, one of her shows she watched.......... so Esme it was.

My Current axie is Sallie......... boring and un-original !

Stanley! No special reason, but I was in between Stanley and Henley and Henley might be a good name for a kid lol so I figure I might wanna keep that one. Plus he looks like a stanley!

We are getting two axies in a few days. I asked my boyfriend what he was planning on naming his. He looked at me like I was crazy and said he'd name it when I named our fish. So it looks like I get to name both. I'm pretty sure one will be Bug, or Bugsy as a "real" name. I have a tendency to call some of my pets bug regardless of their name. Not sure which will get this name, my wildtype or his leucistic. Or what the other name will be, I'm sure it will come once I see their little faces.

My Axi is called Foley as in Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy, Beverly Hills Cop)

Right now I have 8 axies:

Xotl - I wanted something with an X and lotl-like.
Spotl - She has spots all over.
Frangipane (2) - Her mom was called Frangipane, so she got her mom's name. I think it sounds cute...
Goldilocks - She's a golden albino with weird gills.
Chipotl - Here's where the food starts... I removed the 'e' in the name to make it sound more lotl-like.
Banana - Golden albino, she looks like a swimming banana.
Cake - Copper axie. Copper is called Keks in Germany or something which (I guess) means cake or cookie.
Melba - Another copper. Guess the name sounds cute for a female. I have her for a few days now and she still won't come out of her coconut hide...

:smile: I named my guy Aztec, his gills look sorta like the Aztec dancers that sometimes come to our Pow-Wows, and he is from the same region as the Aztec People,
I am looking for a wild type now for a tank mate, and I am hoping to get a copper or light colored one. I have a couple of good names for one of those guys if it fits after he comes to his for ever home.

I have an albino axolotl, whom I named Monster. At least temporarily. He's a vicious little bugger sometimes, and he likes to think he's a lot bigger than he really is. He makes a game of chasing my fingers during feeding time and likes to nip at my palm. I think Monster is a pretty fitting name for his personality.

They look like a plump, juicy pickle...

Toaster? I love it! I think I named an animal or two in my childhood Toast.

I'm currently waiting on my job/apartment situations to fall through before I get my axies, but I plan on getting two. I've only decided on Swampert as a name for my wild when I get him/her, and I hope to also get a luestic as a tank mate. Got an interview on tuesday, so it may not be too much longer to wait!

I've got Hector and Andromache, named after the lovers of the Illiad. I got them in college and was studying the ancient text at the time, and the names seemed oddly fitting! :happy:

She has gone through many names since she arrived, but it looks like we settled on "Chūpa"...

This is short for "chupacabra": a mythical creature also known as the "goatsucker" and originated in Puerto Rico and Mexico. It's the spanish version of "Big foot". We found it interesting and fitting for our little monster

I do remember commenting on the name Maxolotl, and that's exactly what I meant by 'creative' And yes, I have seen Finding Nemo (it's a personal favourite- next to The Lion King). The yellow fish sees the bubbles and says "my bubbles!"...now that's gold! Could i be more of a child!? :lol:

Because Aristotle sounds similar to Axolotl. And Aristotle was cool. Although Archimedes might be more appropriate. For other obvious reasons.

In the end, I decided to call my new one "Sausage".
His full name is Bradford Sausage.

My golden is called Archimedes! And Archie for short. I originally wanted to call him Alaric, but changed my mind last minute. His brother is called Jarvis, after the computer in Iron Man.
