Why did you give your axie that name?

Love this thread, it should've been made sticky. :D My axies are (so far)
Yoshi- gfp leucistic
Casper- white albino
Toothless the Night Shade- wild type (yes I know he isn't melanoid, sue me) :D
Either Albus Severus or Helga Hufflepuff depending on sex, not sure of the sexes on any of them, but I'm hoping for at least one girl and one boy, the others can be whatever :happy:
 
The Dark Knight - Wild Type
Named this because he spends most of his time perching on things, "super-hero flight" posing through the water and he took over the floating toy log... the batcave :)

Flacor - White Albino
When I first saw an Axolotl, Falcor the Luck Dragon from the Never Ending Story came to mind.

Toothless - Melanoid Albino
At this point I had never seen a melanoid or even a wild type being sold here so I just thought I may as well use the name because even without the colour, they look so similar... kind of regret it now
 
My male Leucistic is Kreacher because when I got him everyone kept asking me what this "peculiar little creature" was and I am a Harry Potter nut (Kreacher is the Black family House Elf) and also because I'm convinced he cleans my house for me while I sleep ;)
My Golden Albino (hopefully female) is named Winky (also a Harry Potter House Elf) But if she turns out to be a male as well it'll be changed to Dobby... I have to have matching names for them! XD
 
Luna - Just because I like the way it sounds, I got the idea from the pregnant lady in Dawn of the Dead.
Sphynx - He's very large and when he was a baby he always sat in positions like the Sphynx in Egypt.
Einstein - He's very intelligent and has large, wavy gills.
Lucifer - He's aggressive and dominant over others
Toki - Because he's easily scared. Got the name from Metalocalypse.
Every Axolotl is unique :D
 
My axie's name is Wilson.

He is named after two characters, both of which I equally like. First there is Dr Wilson the oncologist from HouseMD the series. Second there is Wilson the volleyball from the film Castaway.

Two good reasons to call him Wilson. :D
 
all cool names :) and Mandi, I almost went with Kreacher for the same reason, but I liked the alliteration of Albus the Axolotl so I went with that :D
 
Golden Albino - "Pip" from Lord of the Rings. I was going to be three more and finish the others, Merri, Sam & Frodo, but when I got them but they didn't fit being wild types. So...

"Hewey, Lewey & Dewey", no matter what sex they turn out to be. :wink:
 
Monster and Ziggy are the leucistics. Monster is from the title of a David Bowie album named "Scary Monsters and Super Creeps" and because of the fact that he's really big and will take his food like a crazed monster ripping it and tug-o-war-ing it. I actually can't keep him with the others because he's aggressive.

Ziggy, David Bowie's alter ego Ziggy Stardust and because he/she has six toes on his back foot. I also can't tell if he/she is a boy or a girl, which I think is a lot how people thought of Bowie back in the day and the name Ziggy seems gender neutral to me.

Stardust is a GFP white albino, she's named because she's really white and though I don't particularly like the fact that she glows, I think it's something pretty cosmic about her.

And Spider, the melanoid. Taken from the Bowie tour Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. I don't know what it is, but the fact that he's black and his gills come out all crazy, he reminds me of a spider.
 
I named my GFP Leucistic axie, Officer Puckles because of the noise he made whenever he opens his mouth. A little "puck" or popping noise. The officer part came in because i felt he needed a bit more class than puckles.
 
I'm just asdfghjk with a new name, but I'm updating my axies' names as well

GFP Leucistic- Yoshi
Leucistic- Primrose or Albus depending on sex
White Albino- Casper
Wild Type- Toothless the Night Fury ( I mistakenly put night shade last time)

Hopefully in a couple weeks I'll have a few more names to add to the list :D
 
I have a baby wild type, and when I bought him the store put so much emphasis that he was mexican, from mexico, etc... I literally heard them repeat this about 20 times, so I decided he needed a pretty unique spanish or mexican name.

....Somehow I decided on Guadalupe haha!
 
We have a spaceship man and a spaceship man2!!!! My son named them when he was 3 :) i call them both spacey as its too long! He said they looked like alien spaceship men. i tried to encourage something like Buzz and woody or similar character names but he had none of it! His nan called them the ugly fish (she knows they aren't fish) and he got soooo upset...loves his little spaceship men
 
I just got my babies this weekend and have figured out names for them.

The Normal Leucistic - Tater Chip (Tater) Cause you can never have just one

And what I believe is a gfp Leucistic - Stitch - a grumpy greedy little allien but gets loveable

Most of mine have religious names: Ezekiel, Gabriel etc.

Purely because I like religious names and I'm weird. It also occured to me "Hey, it's not like I have to shout it out over the park" so unusual was the way to go.

Unusual names for unusual (fantastic, amazing, fascinating) creatures :p
 
Mr Bigglesworth, for anyone who watched austin powers "dr evil's" cat is called mr bigglesworth, i always wanted a sphynx cat and an albino axolotl was the closest i could get
 
Leo is my golden albino - as his gills are lovely and red and he resembles a lion :)

Snoopy...white, black eyes...like snoopy the dog...

Marmite - white - albino...as some people love them, some don't :)
 
Chef was the name of the first wildtype I got, because he was huge, and had a giant pair of, well a huge cloaca.
The Doctor and Rose, pair of Leucistics, after the time travelling series
Thor and Lochi - Goldies, and their gills are lovely and blood red.
Judy - melanoid blue black colouration, after judge judy
Mickey- olive wildtype after Mickey from shameless because he walks like he's carrying suitcases on the bottom of his tank with Judy
Finally Eric, Stan, Kyle and Kenny - baby goldies after the Southpark series :)
 
The one on the left is James Bond - named by my 9 year old who probably isn't quite sure who James Bond is but thinks it's a stealthy name and it's a stealthy axolotl. The yellow one is mine and I think of it as a her though it's too early to tell. She is Full Throttle, just because it rhymes. She is a thick as it is possible to be.

I have one axolotl named Toothless and he's leucistic but it's just a BAMF name for an axolotl. I also had one named Fang after the dog from Harry Potter but she passed, and now i'm thinking of stealing the name Luna off here for my new golden axolotl, thanks guys!
